Built in the fourth century, the church has been damaged, destroyed and rebuilt several times, It contains the last five Stations of the Cross of the Via Dolorosa including Golgotha or Calvary, the place of the crucifixion, as well as the empty Tomb of Christ, Today the church is shared by six different groups of Christian clergy.
