Description

"Giymat-Roza" is a Central Synagogue of Zaporizhzhya Region. Opened in 2012. The second synagogue built in Ukraine since independence (after the "Beis Stern Shulman" in Krivoy Rog in 2010). Built on the model of the Jerusalem Temple. According to unofficial data, more than 9 million UAH were spent on its construction, donated by business partners Igor (Israel) Dvoretsky and muslim Artur Abdinov. Synagogue "Giymat-Rose" is named after their mothers. According to the Chief Rabbi of the Russian Federation, Berl Lazar, who was present at the opening, this is a unique case when a muslim financed the construction of a synagogue.
