The Dead Sea is a unique and remarkable area. It is the lowest place on the surface of our planet. It's mineral-rich water and mud, combined with with healing hot springs, make the region a natural health spa. Being one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world, everyone can float in it without any effort! Situated between Israel and the Palestinian Authority area on the west and Jordan on the east, this salt lake is fed by the Jordan River and winter flash-floods. In recent decades, however, the sea has receded dramatically creating sinkholes in the area.
