Cragganmore was the first distillery in Scotland to have its site selected and be built specifically to take advantage of its proximity to the Strathspey Railway. John Smith, who had previously been involved with Macallan, Glenlivet and Glenfarclas distilleries, founded Cragganmore in 1869. Cragganmore distillery is one of the most prolific in the Banffshire region of Speyside, where the distillery is located. On the far edge of the Scotch whisky map, it's supposed that the art of distillation was first brought to Islay by Irish monks. Being remote, it’s an art that flourished in the hands of the islanders, whose illegal operations tested the resolve and means of the tax man. Eventually, the law relaxed, various whisky makers set up legitimate distilleries, among them a pair of farmers, Donald and Alexander Johnston, who in 1815 founded their distillery on the island’s south coast. באבא יגו היה חיי במרוקו וגם נפטר שם.. לפני כמה שנים הוא בא לתושב שדרות בחלום וביקש ממנו להעלות את העצמות שלו לישראל וכך התושב עשה הוא צירף אליו עוד אנשים עם כח השפעה למסע המרתק הזה וביחד הם הצליחו להעלות את עצמותיו לארץ וטמנו אותם בבית העלמין בשדרות עם הילולה ענקית ובנו לו ציון מכובד ומאז כל שנה יש בדרות הילולה של הצדיק באבא יגו.. הסיפור המלא נמצא בדף פייסבוק

ישיבת ההסדר שדרות הוקמה בלב האזור הותיק של העיר צמוד למגדל המים שלימים הפך לחדר באוכל של הישיבה ולאחר מכן לבית מדרש נוסף חוץ מהמרכזי... צמוד לישיבה שוכן מבנה שהיה קרוי "בית ביבי" זה אחד המבנים הוותיקים בעיר ובו נערכו חינות וחתונות של הרבה מותיקי שדרות, עם השנים הוא הפך למקום כמו בית העם שנערכים בו מסיבות של בתי ספר ותנועות נוער ובין היתר גם אירועים קטנים פרטיים בתשלום סמלי.. כיום הישיבה רכשה אותו והוא עדיין משמש מקום ואירועים כמו מסיבות חינות בת מצוות אזכרות שבתות חתן ועוד אבל הוא עבר מתיחת פנים רצינית שלא מביישת אולם אירועים כמובן שהכל מתנהל רק עם תשלום לישיבה

זה השלוחה של הישיבה הגדולה של שדרות.... באחד הסבבים האחרונים נפגע בית המדרש שלהם מקאסם ובנס אף תלמיד לא נפגע ורוב רובם של התלמידים לא היו בבית המדרש שבדרך כלל שוקק חיים
